If you are used to seeing men’s and women’s fashion show separately, this will come as a disappointment to you as a fan and a keen fashionista of the iconic and leading luxury brand Gucci. In a recent keynote speech at the New York Times International Luxury Conference in Versailles, Marco Bizzarri, President and CEO of Gucci, announced that the brand will unify its women's and men's seasonal fashion shows from 2017, when Creative Director Alessandro Michele will present one collection each season combining his women's wear and men's wear. The first unified show will take place at Gucci's new Milan headquarters at Via Mecenate.

“It's the way I see the world today. It will not necessarily be an easy path and will certainly present some challenges, but I believe it will give me the chance to move towards a different kind of approach to my story telling," said Alessandro Michele.

Gucci also confirmed that it will maintain its  'see now, buy later' schedule, respecting the necessities of the creative and production process in luxury fashion.

Marco Bizzarri, said: "Moving to one show each season will significantly help to simplify many aspects of our business.  Maintaining two separate, disconnected calendars has been a result of tradition rather than practicality."

L'Occitane en Provence turns five

The Embassy of France in Delhi was brought to life by the beautiful scent of exotic french flowers as L'Occitane celebrated it's fifth anniversary in India over a fun evening of Champagne.

The lively evening was hosted by Mr. François Richier, Ambassador of France to India and L’Occitane India Country Head Mr. Gilles Moutounet along with Ms. Vidushi & Rima Mehra. Being a  sensorial brand, L'Occitane made sure it pleases all five senses of the guests. There were delightful fragrance tests, super-fun blind tasting, a gorgeous display of exotic flowers and products- all this complemented by live jazz music. We also indulged in some pampering with mini beauty treatments and skin consultations from L'Occitane.

The 'Immortelle' flowers, whose beauty lasts for up to three centuries even after they are picked, were gorgeously displayed. Tempting L'Occitane products were also beautifully displayed at the stalls. We enjoyed lovely hand massages at one of the kiosks and professional skin consultations at another stall. Guests also had a chance to win some L'Occitane goodies by guessing ingredients like honey, thyme, marmalade etc. at the blind-tasting stall. Everything is better with music, isn't it? A live jazz band playing in the backdrop completed the evening, while French wines and finger licking canapes made rounds in the pretty premises.

To mark their 5th anniversary in India the brand associated with NAB (National Association for the Blind) and contributed 10 percent of the sale proceeds from the evening. The brand also held an auction, the proceeds of which were also to be given to the National Association for the Blind.

Taking inspiration from the captivating colors, scents and traditions of Provence, L'Occitane offers sensorial bath, body and skincare products made from natural ingredients. We wish the brand more successful years ahead!

The concept architecture of the underwater part of the hull of the Oceanic 90' was a challenge in itself. Despite the numerous tank tests Oceanic Yachts did at the "INSEAN", the Rome tank testing facility, and the very positive results they obtained, the actual scale one results were beyond expectations. The goal was to find a hull design that would reduce the buoyancy of the aft part of the hull but that would also allow for very low speed planing as well as a top end speed at least similar to most motor yachts of this size.

Says Oceanic Yachts Managing Director, Michel Karsenti, “We achieved all our goals. We wanted to reduce buoyancy aft to be able to run the boat at low speed with the handling that would be as close as possible to a typical displacement hull”.

Below 15 knots, the balance of the hull is similar to a heavy displacement boat, which reduces the bouncing every planning hull suffers at slow speed. By staying perfectly flat, the boat benefits from a longer running surface that allows the it to run with minimal kW needs. It saves diesel as at 8 knots, the Oceanic 90' burns just under 40 liters of diesel for both engines, while at 10 knots, the consumption is 70 liters.

The under water exhaust positioned just before the second step of the hull allow to run on plane as slow as 16.5 knots, which is a true achievement.

The first Oceanic 90' was overbuilt but still runs at 22 knots cruising and can reach 26.8 knots at full speed with 2/3 load (record in Cannes during the Cannes Yachting Festival 2014)

“The production series will be built with an entire Kevlar superstructure that will reduce the weight, lower the center of gravity, and we are confident we will then be able to reach 23 knots cruising speed and more than 27 knots top speed”, ends Karsenti.

Oceanic Yachts 90 MY/Tsa Tsa will come equipped with the below among other things:

Upper Deck owner’s suite with private terrace

Lower Deck owner will have VIP plus two guest cabins

The convertible aft deck can stow 6.50m diesel powered SACS tender

Additional JetSki on the deck

Michelle Williams for Louis Vuitton

If you are a die-hard fashionista with a penchant for grabbing the latest “It bags” then  take a look at Louis Vuitton’s new advertising campaign starting this October with Michelle Williams, currently starring on Broadway in the acclaimed revival of the musical Cabaret, co-directed by Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall.

The Academy Awards nominated actress Michelle Williams took time out to be photographed for Louis Vuitton by Peter Lindbergh. She carries the emblematic Louis Vuitton bags, the Capucines and the Lockit, in new softer shades: sky blue Outremer, soft pink Magnolia and dark blue Cobalt with bright fuchsia edging for the Capucines; beige Galet and Black with python trim for the Lockit.

A separate visual features the Emprise watch. For the first time, Michelle Williams wears looks from Nicolas Ghesquière’s collections. The pared-down backdrop of the New York studio resonates with the pure lines of both the bags and the ready-to-wear, and – in focusing the eye on the expressive beauty of Michelle Williams – creates a subtle, intimate ambiance.

The resulting series of portraits hints at the woman behind the actress, revealing the intriguing balance of force and fragility that made Michelle Williams such a compelling choice as the face of Louis Vuitton. This campaign with Michelle Williams, marking the actress’s third season as its ambassadress starting this October
