Aamir Khan awards GQ 50 Most Influential Young Indians 2016
The suave Bollywood actor Aamir Khan couldn’t have been a better choice to give away The GQ’s 50 Most Influential Young Indians 2016 awards on 2nd July, Saturday at the Capital. The actor who is well known to be a perfectionist with immense influential capabilities, felicitated the young visionaries who have succeeded in creating a niche for themselves in their respective fields.
The award function was the second edition of an editorial property that was launched by GQ in 2015. It presents an authoritative list of influencers which is published in the July issue of the magazine. The power list of influential men, all under the age of 40, were selected from a diverse range of backgrounds and professions. Outstanding personalities from business and entrepreneurship, politics, education, fashion, design, media, food & drink, entertainment, sports and real estate to name a few were felicitated as the front runners.
An engaging conversation between GQ India’s Editor – Che Kurrien and Aamir Khan provided nuggets of inspiration for those present. Never give up on your dreams, no matter what the situation, urged the Bollywood idol to the go getters.
Those present from the GQ’s list of 50 Most Influential Young Indians of 2016, were Dulquer Salmaan, Benny Dayal, Manu Chandra, Ashiesh Shah, Suket Dhir, Jiten Thukral, Aditya Ghosh, Ritesh Agarwal, Samrath Bedi, Rahul Mishra, Anant Goenka, Arunabh Kumar, Biswapati Sarkar, Krishna Ram Bhupal, Keshav Bansal, Zorawar Kalra, Tej Brar, Suketu Telekar, Hanif Kureshi, Umang Bedi, Ujjawal Dubey, Abhimanyu Alsisar, Sameer Kulavoor, Ankur Jain, Arijit Bose, Gaurav Malakar, Mithun Sacheti, Mustafa Ghouse, Nikhil Kapur and Prabhat Choudhary to name a few.
The evening was graced by Delhi’s glitterati like Sunil Sethi, Gaurav Gupta, JJ Valaya, Shivan and Narresh, Prateek Jain, Benny Dayal, Atsu Sekhose, Vikrum Baidyanath and many others.
Commenting on the occasion, Che Kurrien, Editor, GQ India, said, “Influence plays out in many ways. This year, our list includes a tech scion who’s using his large fortune to preserve two millennia of the country’s literary history; a political strategist who’s re-inventing the campaign game; a college dropout who’s disrupting the hotel industry and a pair of rebels creating India’s largest original digital content channel. They’ve built companies and assembled fortunes – and none of them is older than 40. Here's presenting GQ’s new establishment list, which reflects the youthful population of a dynamic economy. These are men who have a new vision for India and the chops to make it happen.”
The event was hosted by GQ in association with Glennfiddich and TrueBlue at The Oval Room, Hyatt Regency Delhi.
