Manav Gangwani unveils 'Seven'
Renowned couturier Manav Gangwani enthralled the capital with his spectacular Couture collection 'Seven' at Hyatt Regency while also unveiling his brand's new identity- the MG Crest.
With 70 models on the ramp & 30 models (off the ramp welcoming guests), this show is the India’s largest single designer Couture Show. The collection is inspired by the very essence of his life. Along with glorious embroideries, Pearls, Gota & Chikankari are used extensively, complementing the Swarovski crystals. "We are delighted to be associated with Manav Gangwani, yet again. He has set a benchmark in taking Couture to new heights of fashion and artistry and Swarovski's partnership with him continues to surprise, scintillate and inspire a whole new world of possibilities", said Vivek Ramabhadran, Managing Director, Swarovski India.
Translating his 7 Virtues into 7 colors, the designer has used shades of pink to depict hope, yellow to depict faith, a gentle lavender to depict forgiveness, the purity of ivory to depict honesty, the brilliance of aqua depicts strength, the boldness of gold to depict courage & finally the luminosity of green to depict loyalty. “Taking inspiration and using techniques from a long-forgotten era, I have woven together a fantasy of ethereal creations. I have given a touch of other worldly charm and serenity, along with a feeling of opulence, to the entire collection", explained Manav.
The evening was envisioned to be at par with international couture presentations - starting with a red carpet entry, followed by pre show celebrations leading up to the grand unveiling of the MG Crest. The ballroom was encircled with an oval stage, for multiple designs to be showcased simultaneously - giving the audience a spectacular view through its 235 feet ramp versus the traditional ramp of 80 feet. The collection showcased 60 women’s styles including kaftans, draped saris, lehengas, jackets, suits and Anarkalis and over 20 men’s styles with the classic sherwanis, fashioned with a difference!
