The extravagant Presidential Suite at the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz
The Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, Europe’s Leading Wellbeing & Medical Health Resort is an epitome of luxury. The recently completed Presidential suite further adds to its opulent glory with breathtaking interiors and architecture. Think of a private smokers’ lounge, a Swarovski crystal ceiling and gold dust in the wallpaper- the Presidential suite at the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz leaves absolutely nothing to be desired.
Spanning 300 square metres, the suite is equipped with two bedrooms, a spacious living room, a smokers’ lounge, a wine cabinet and a kitchen. Bask in the beauty of the vineyards of the Bündner Herrschaft and gaze out over the Rhine Valley from the comforts of your balconies. Customised ceiling lights and standard lamps made of Venetian Murano glass or decorated with Swarovski stones, marble floors with elaborate inlay work and rosewood furniture have all been wonderfully incorporated by interior designer Claudio Carbone. He has himself created all the furniture of this luxury suite.
The lightness of the suite is reflected in the customised ceiling lights and standing lamps made of delicate Murano glass from Venice. The spacious dining room with its floor-to-ceiling windows opens out onto the balcony and the Graubünden Rhine Valley. On setting foot in the entrance area with its elaborate intarsia floor and thousands of glass crystals, you will enter a fairy-tale world. The dressing room features a chair upholstered with salmon leather that stands below a ceiling glittering with Swarovski crystals. When seated here, your gaze will be drawn through the floor-to ceiling windows to the view of the mountains landscape to itself become a further feature of the space. In the entrance area, you will be met by an elaborate beige Bianco Perlino marble intarsia floor and more than 30,000 glass crystals.
The living room has an adjoining smokers’ lounge with a humidor and a temperate wine cabinet which is kept stocked by the team of six butlers working under Head Butler Andreas Karrasch. The bedrooms are decorated with ray leather inlay work, chairs upholstered with salmon leather and silk carpets. The two bathrooms featuring Bianco Perlino marble are wonderful wellness oases equipped with a sauna, a freestanding whirlpool bathtub and a steam bath. As in all rooms at the Spa Suites building, thermal water – which promotes health and wellbeing – flows from the taps. The high-tech equipment such as the Bang & Olufsen televisions and music system, the discreetly positioned screens and the lighting system and the blinds are all controlled via iPad.
The resort has three premium suites in addition to the Presidential Suite: the exclusive Penthouse (600 square metres), the luxurious Royal Suite (200 square metres) and the historic Imperial Suite (105 square metres). If you are travelling in a big group, you may extend the Presidential Suite into the Presidential Floor, which spans 600 square metres and has a total of six bedrooms, each with its own separate bathroom, living area and balcony.
