French Food Festival to celebrate French National Day at 1911 restaurant and at nostalgia, 1911 brasserie, The Imperial Hotel, Delhi

Celebrate la Fête nationale with a fiesta fit for a king at the Imperial

There are not many places in Delhi where you can have an authentic French cuisine, in fact you can just count them on your fingers the few that are known for it. So when Luxepointindia was invited for a taste of French flavours at the 1911 restaurant at the Imperial Hotel in Janpath we knew it would be genuinely superb. The 1911 Restaurant and Nostalgia at 1911 Brasserie are celebrating the Bastille Day with with a 17 course menu leaving you absolutely spoilt for choice.

We were invited with a group of food and lifestyle media to taste the cuisine. The afternoon for food review took an air of fun camaraderie as we took turns in posing for pictures with each other while talking about the beautiful spread of food in front of us.

Vijay Wanchoo, Senior Executive Vice President & General Manager, The Imperial, New Delhi joined us while talking about the vast menu and the food festival. “It gives me immense pleasure to be able to host the French National Day Festival at The Imperial as a mark of tribute to this extremely historically significant day, for all our French patrons and for our discerning guests. Nostalgia at 1911 Brasserie took the concept of 1911Restaurant forward, and is the ideal venue that revisits the classic European menu in an old-world ambience, for an ethereal experience. French cuisine is one of the most admired cuisines in the world, and with this festival we want to take our guests on an authentic gastronomical journey to celebrate the occasion like no other.”

The menu involves many classic dishes that uses the traditional method of cooking using traditional French culinary practices. There are an array of flavorful appetizers, followed by a lineup of enticing entrée dishes and delectable hand-crafted desserts. Classic appetizers like Terrine de Foie de Volaille au Chutney de Mangue- Chicken liver terrine with mango chutney, Poëlée de St Jacques et Salade de Fenouil aux Agrumes - Pan fried scallops with fennel and citrus sala, and more tempt your palate with the perfect blend of flavors and ingredients. Entrée dishes like Filet de Doré Jaune, Riz Noir et Beurre Citron  - Pan fried John dory, black rice and lemon butter sauce , Filet de Loup, Ratatouille et Sauce Vierge- Fillet o seabass, ratatouille and “sauce vierge” and Filet Grillé, Sauce Béarnaise aux Poivre et Pommes Allumettes - Tenderloin with matchstick potatoes, bearnaise or pepper sauce and more pay homage to some of the most beloved French dishes, while Île Flottante meringue - Served on Crème Anglaise and Poire Belle Hélène - Poached pears served with vanilla ice-cream and chocolate sauce sweeten things up for a wholesome French meal.
