Ministry of Crab opens up its gourmet doors for Mumbai

Sri Lanka's most well known restaurant by Chef Darshan Munidasa just opened up its gourmet doors to the who's who of Mumbai. Father and daughter Anil Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor attended the launch with Khushi Kapoor as well as Shanaya Kapoor. There were cricket celebrities from Sri Lanka too.

Brought to Mumbai by Gourmet Investments Pvt Ltd (GIPL) the restaurant listed in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant list, and located at, Zaveri House, Khar, Mumbai was much awaited
 
The star-studded evening was hosted by GIPL spokespersons Ramit Bharti Mittal (Director and CEO) & Deepinder Batth (Director and COO) along with Chef Dharshan Munidasa and cricketers Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara.  Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Ajit Agarkar and Shobhaa De were amongst the other distinguished guests  present to celebrate the launch.
 
Ministry of Crab, is known for being Sri Lanka’s first restaurant dedicated to serving export quality lagoon crabs and is the brainchild of celebrated Chef and restauranteur Dharshan Munidasa. Partnering with Sri Lankan cricketing legends Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara, MOC was launched in Sri Lanka on 2011 and is housed in the renovated 400-year-old Dutch Hospital.
 
A veteran of several landmark restaurant launches in India (PizzaExpress, Typhoon Shelter, The Bandra Project, The Runway Project, The Market Project, The Poona Project), GIPL has created a new ethos for the food and beverage industry. Mumbai MOC, is a relaxed luxury dining restaurant with an ambience attractive to India’s globe-trotting clientele, hence opulent interiors and a size of 6000sq. ft. The restaurant can host upto 24 guests at its private dining room. In the basement is the bar. All furnishings across the three-tiered restaurant are bespoke.
 
The restaurant which is intimate and impressive has been designed by Ayaz Basrai. The restaurant allows its customers to make their pick which is then serviced from its open kitchen.
