L'Opera: French style bakery at Epicuria

The French are known world over for their passion and fervour for culinary skills and when it comes to desserts, is there anyone who can do it better? Luckily, Delhiites can now experience this unique French style culinary passion at the elegant Parisian terrace in Epicuria Mall. Inspired by the typical French “Salon de Thé”, a concept that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century, it is all about augmenting the authentic French experience further with ample seating space and impeccable attention to detail.

At a recent bloggers event, we got to meet Mr Kaizam Samandari, the man behind this stylish, high- end bakery who spoke to us passionately about the products that range from breads to cakes, to pastries, macaroons and eclairs. The marriage of taste to elegance is extremely innovative and taken to lavish heights with a finesse known only to the French.We gorged on irresistible  mouth-watering treats that were dished out to us one by one. Each of the baked goodies looked like a star and tasted just as amazing! 

L'Opera Offerings:

Breads

L’Opéra’s  is all about quality, excellence and bringing  a 3000-year-old European tradition to your table. It's products include fresh breads that are 100% preservative free. From the quintessentially French Baguette to the more rustic Sourdough breads or even the much-loved Italian Ciabatta made with fine olive oil, L’Opéra’s refined bread selection is made to appeals to a variety of tastes and experiences.

Viennese 

These are the popular flaky pastry delights known for breakfast that are crafted and baked to airy, buttery perfection. The traditional Croissant, made with butter from Normandy, is perfect for both breakfast and snack time. The Almond Croissant, a sweeter variant with a smooth almond cream filling and covered with almond flakes which can also work as a dessert is to die for. The Raisin Brioche is rolled into a spiral with pastry cream filling and raisins is another timeless French classic.

Cakes & Pastries

L'Opera cakes and pastries are stunning pieces that are thoroughly delectable. Classic delicacies, such as Chocolate Éclair– filled with rich chocolate cream and covered with melted chocolate icing – or the Mille Feuille– the most French of all desserts, crafted with layered puff pastry and pastry cream, topped off with caramel. I fell in love with the The  recently launched eggless Nutty Chocolate Treata seamless combination of eggless brownie, light-as-air dark chocolate mousse, caramel and crunchy caramelized peanuts.

Savoury “petits-fours”

These bite-sized delicacies are ideal for cocktail parties, tea time and any  get-togethers . The Prune Bacon Brochettes, Ham and Carrot Quiche or Mushroom Feuilletés (made with flaky pastry crust) are great options to  add a unique sense of sophistication to any event. 

Chocolate Bars

L’Opéra’s select Belgian chocolate, crafted with a variety of exotic ingredients and is available in 5 flavours. Much as I wanted to try each of them, I was too full. Yet, I could not refrain from trying the unique looking  and tempting  Framboise Pistache. The white chocolate with the fruity aroma of raspberry, paired with the crunchy, nutty taste of pistachio is a must try. Another temptation was the Fruits et Noix,  a dark chocolate with a combination of fruits and nuts.
