Gucci's blooms and geometrics
If you are thinking of changing your wardrobe especially the accessories feast your eyes on these before you pick the one or all, you would like proudly displayed in your closet. First introduced for Autumn/Winter 2015-16, the GG Blooms pattern has been expanded into a full capsule collection for Cruise 2016.
GG Blooms is a floral pattern that sits on the house’s historic GG pattern, a playful take on the classic logo-based motif, making it contemporary through an eclectic treatment. Applied to the GG Supreme fabric, GG Blooms gives you a spirit that is a cross between romantic and street style that is both striking and youthful.
For Cruise 2016, you will find them in two key colours. The GG Blooms pink flower print first appeared on several womenswear items for autumn/winter 2015-16, including the Dionysus bag with sliding chain handle. This colourway sees items trimmed with dry-rose calf or suede.
The green print version, introduced for Cruise 2016, is a ‘masculine’ interpretation of the pink print, with the floral pattern created from shades of green, which introduces a more sporty note. The trim here is always in black calf and some of its items are unisex.
Find them in bags, shoes, small wallets and cases, and silks including key pieces such as the totes, high-top sneakers and ballerinas. There are also many wallets, card cases and cases for technological devices in the collection.
While you are at it take a look at the GG Caleido print which is a playful take on the GG-logo motif too. It is a design that suggests the geometric effect produced by looking at the GG pattern through a kaleidoscope. There are three different patterns, all based around the use of black, geometric shapes – bar, star and peak.
