The fourth unit of the exceptional Wallycento range of super yachts is now under way, as the extraordinary fleet of Wally’s cruise machines prepares to welcome another addition to it.

Wally, the world leader in yachting innovation, has another ace up its sleeve. The fourth unit of Wallycento, the cutting-edge range of box-ruled super yachts, has been successfully commissioned and is under construction at present.

A super yacht par excellence, the Wallycento is a groundbreaking cruise machine developed on the unorthodox lines of the latest racing yachts featuring reduced displacement, a powerful sail plan, moveable ballast, improved stability and planing hull characteristics. The cruiser’s perfect size complements its distinctive features to combine absolute comfort, outstanding performance, and racing manoeuvrability into one spectacular machine.

Four times the better

Wallycento#4 promises to be a further step forward in the evolution of the high performance super yachts from the house of the award winning yachting brand, and will benefit greatly from the previous units’ experience.

This unit also saw the introduction of a new naval architect, Mark Mills of Mills Design, to the prestigious ranks of Wally. “We suggested Mark to the client because I was impressed by the performance of the Maxi72 Alegre,” said Luca Bassani, Founder and President, Wally. “Since the first meetings, we shared with him the same vision of the innovations that can be applied to this type of yachts like the cutting-edge deck layout that combines our flush-deck with bulwark introduced in 2006 with Esense, with the ramp deck of Alegre, perfectly reflecting the Wally DNA of improved functionality,” he added.

The owner of Wallycento#4 is a passionate racing yachtsman, who decided to join the Wallycento club tempted by the performance and style of  the first three units - Galateia, Magic Carpet Cubed, and Open Season.

“Cruising in comfort at the speed of the fastest maxi racer, and racing at the highest level of competition is the dream of every passionate yachtsman. Wallycento is the first and only super yacht making this dream come true. I am very happy to see owners who share my view of the development of the maxi racer-cruisers, building up a good Wallycento fleet,” opined Luca Bassani.

Perfection in design

Directed by the client to produce the most refined high performance solution to the box-ruled Wallycento racer-cruiser, Mills Design assembled a team of top-class specialists to review the options and create something unique.

“Significant progress has been made in a number of areas,” said Mark Mills of Mills Design.  “One of the first targeted for improvement was optimisation of the layout to reduce structural weight, improve hull stiffness, and centralise the significant machinery weights to reduce pitching inertias.  The hull shape exhibits a combination of low drag in lighter conditions and increased stability in more wind that makes her more versatile than previous generations,” he added.

“Deck development is development significant thread, combining the simple sleek aesthetic that Wally agreed upon with the client with a functional race-able layout encouraging quicker easier manoeuvres,” Mills further described.

Currently under construction at Persico Marine Yard, Italy, the Wallycento#4 is scheduled to be delivered in June-2017; in perfect time for the second part of the Wally Class racing season.
