Zehen by Sahil Kochhar presented by Akhil Verma of Pitaraah
Every now and then Indian fashion throws up a name that makes you sit up and observe. Sahil Kochhar is one of them. His embroideries are rich and become a perfect surface ornamentation for designs that are truly Indian but has a perfect global touch to it in terms of the design silhouettes. Having trained with one of the best Indian designer Rohit Bal after graduating from the National Institute of Fashion Technology this young designer began showcasing his creations and garnering accolades through various awards such as the Grazia Young Fashion Award, Ekke Graduate Award and was nominated for International Wool Mark Prize and Stardust Awards.
He recently showcased his debut haute couture collection 2018-19 Zehen presented by Pitaraah, the multi designer store founded by Akhil Verma. The show stood out not just for the interesting collection that consisted of embroidered jackets, sherwanis, lehengas and dresses with distinct western touch but never forgetting its valuable and rich Indian roots, but also for the extremely well organized, choreographed and its beautiful red floral theme.
Sahil Kochhar said “Zehen is our first ever Couture collection and it takes forward our love for details and intricate embroideries while staying true to our innate aesthetic. The collection is very versatile and has a global appeal at the same time is uber luxurious and opulent.”
"The collection has the regal charm of the Victorian era detailed with oriental exoticism. Each hand crafted piece has been delicately and intricately made with love. We are happy to be ready for the festive season,” said Akhil Verma.
The cocktail soiree followed by the fashion show, was hosted by Akhil Verma and Sahil Kochhar and was attended by the crème de la crème of Delhi’s fashion and social glitterati including Kalyani Chawla, RohitBal, Varun Bahl, Anirudh Birla, Neelam Pratap Rudy, Ridhi Mehra, Vivek Sahni, Jenjum Gadi, Anirudh Birla, Ramola Bachhan, Neelam Pratap Rudy, Dhruv Kapoor, Neera Nath, Manish Chopra, Rishiv Khattar amongst others.
