House of RARO opens new store
The luxury interior brand, House of RARO recently expanded its footprint by opening their second store in the capital at MG Road, Sultanpur. The 7500 sq ft store offers a window to the exquisite creations of the House of RARO.
Rolly Gupta, Creative Director at the House of RARO reveals future plans of the brand while sharing insights on the Indian luxury interiors industry.
Tell us something about the decor and interiors of your new store at Mehrauli-Gurgaon road?
The space has been designed in a special art deco style. One will notice a lot of details in the interiors that spell a rich 1920's French art deco spirit. The furniture is modern deco styled. Most of the walls have rich wall papers and paneling in fabrics or mirror.
What products and services will you be offering at this store?
As always HOR has a vast collection of luxury furniture that can be picked off the shelf. However Raro is primarily involved in bespoke furniture for high end residences and offices.
In addition to this we offer a service called "super styling". This is mainly an opportunity for our clients who are buying the furniture to have their spaces styled by us. This is a softer approach to interior design where we suggest color pallets, textures and accessories so that the space compliments the exquisite furniture.
What makes House of Raro stand out from other luxury interior brands?
The one thing that sets HOR apart from other brands is rarity in designs and materials. The deigns are unique, due to the sophisticated aesthetics and clever use of exotic materials with fine craftsmanship.
What do the modern day clients look for? Do they still go for traditional styles or are they keen on experimenting with contemporary trends?
Clients are now bored of the very minimal machine made modern furniture. They are looking for details and fine craftsmanship so that their space looks different from hotel and airport lounges. I think they are happy to experiment with new forms and finishes.
What other Indian/international brands do you admire?
Viya home is a very nice Indian brand. International brands we like include Giorgetti, Cecotti , Promemoria, Joseph Walsh.
What others designers are you planning to collaborate with?
We are always working with some of the top designers in the country. Kaif Faquih, Sunnu and Pheroza Netharwala,Talati Pantaki and Associates.
There is exponential growth in the number of expositions and exhibitions for luxury apparel, automobiles, real estate etc in Indian cities. Do you feel the need for such platforms for showcasing the best of luxury interiors brands in India, as well?
Yes there is a huge need for such initiatives. The industry needs to get more organized and these exclusive shows do provide a good opportunity to young talent to showcase their creativity.
What other cities do you plan to set foot in? Are there also any plans for global retail stores?
In India we are really happy to be operating out of flagship store in Delhi as for most high end projects architects and clients are used to visiting Delhi for sourcing of furniture and accessories. Internationally, we are aiming to have a presence in London and Dubai in the near future.
Launched in 1997, RARO has carved a niche for it self in the luxury home segment. House of RARO undertakes complete solutions for interior service where in they execute everything pertaining to the project. www.houseofraro.com
