The iconic Louis Vuitton trunk inspires the case for this vibrant watch

This vibrant and playful watch by Louis Vuitton -  the hypnotic " Escale Spin Time Black & Fire " will be part of the Only Watch, the charity auction of premier timepieces. The warm tones of orange, yellow and red at the centre of the Louis Vuitton designed movement is eye catching while orange symbolizes the collaboration between the House and Only Watch.

Positioned in the centre of the sapphire crystal, a disk in the same colours – bearing the inscription "Louis Vuitton Only Watch” – evokes the shape of a stylised globe, continuing in the Louis Vuitton tradition of world travel. A trunk in Ardoise Taiga leather accompanies this timepiece, with a printed leather patch that represents the globe featured in the centre of the dial.

In 2010, Louis Vuitton introduced the Tambour Spin Time GMT, which offered a playful and innovative new way to tell the time thanks to an ingenious system of 12 rotating cubes, powered by an in-house movement (LV119) that revolutionised the concept of jumping hours.

In 2014, the House took this one step further by launching another original watch: a timepiece with a unique shape and a new case, inspired by the iconic Louis Vuitton trunks, baptised Escale. With its intriguing features, this timepiece offers an original take on the world-time function and a colourful dial, inspired by the hand painted bands of colour, initials and coats of arms that were used to customise trunks.
