Mumbai saw the opening of Gallery Odyssey at One Indiabulls Centre, Lower Parel recently with a preview of solo show by internationally acclaimed sculptor Lorenzo Quinn, son of late Anthony Quinn. The evening was filled with the splendor of art and culture.

Designer Raghavendra Rathore set the mood for the evening with overtures of rich Indian colours welcoming the sculptural styles of Lorenzo Quinn. Silhouettes inspired by the Jodhpuri Bandhgala in various avatars of both men's and women's couture ensembles were selectively chosen for the inaugural evening, showcasing a unique celebration of art through regal fashion.

Gallery Odyssey opened in association with London’s prestigious Halcyon Gallery. This exciting collaboration highlights Indiabull’s support to art and cultural programmes for both their local and international clientele, while marking an important milestone in Quinn’s map of global artistic success. Lorenzo Quinn started his career as an actor. He also acted in a movie with his father Anthony Quinn (Stradivari) but ended up returning to his first love- Painting and later ended up being a sculptor. While his father started out as a sculptor and ended up being an actor (famously known for Lawrence of Arabia, Guns of Navarone, The Message).

Poetry, family and society all feed into the creative process of Lorenzo Quinn’s work and the immediate emotional response his sculptures produce mirror this heart-felt input. "My inspiration comes from the everyday life, books or poems that I read, my encounters with people and from my own experiences; sculpture is a part of who I am and the greatest gift is being able to share it. I hope my artwork will spark the imagination of the people of India and that they will feel they are part of it as well. I am honoured and proud to be working with Halcyon Gallery to put together this major exhibition and to share my work with India the world", said Quinn.

The Opening of Gallery Odyssey will offer an unmatched experience to art lovers and collectors alike. The artistic set up at Odyssey Gallery is being managed by Bina Aziz. It was celebrated over a spectacular event hosted by Sameer and Divya Gehalut and orchestrated by Chhaya Momaya. Present for the Opening evening were Mr. Paul Green of Halcyon Gallery, London and celebrated sculptor Lorenzo Quinn with wife Giovanna; Raghavendra Rathore with wife Kavita, Bina Aziz who has managed the artistic  set up, with husband Talat Aziz.
