An afternoon at Amatrra

The very special Blogger's Meet at the beautiful Amatrra Spa at the Ashok turned out to be an energising day, a fun workout session and a deliciously healthy luncheon, just enough to get my lazy self out in the dreaded winter cold.
The Amattra Spa, one of Delhi's most loved and preferred Spas celebrated the opening of its Gymnasium ‘Artis’, a novel concept fitness hub that keeps up with the technological advancements in the fitness industry. On giving the equipment a try, I found that the gym houses quite an innovative range for its members, taking care of their digital needs while working out. The ‘Artis’ treadmill, for instance, world’s first UNITY technology controlled treadmill that is open to Google Glass, Android applications, and various other entertainment options for all gym buffs, is a sure shot winner in my eyes.
At the session led by Amatrra's fitness expert Bubbly, it was time for the gang of bloggers to let their hair loose! A fun zumba session was all I needed to snap out of the lethargy brought upon by lazy winter days. From Bhangra to Salsa- zumba lets you have the best of all dance forms! Even though I don't usually enjoy working out, I don't mind if I can zumba my way to a more toned body.
Soon it was time to tour the award winning Spa and information on the therapies at Amatrra. I walked through the mildly lemongrass-scented, candle lit hallways of the Spa. Following the stepping boards that lie partially immersed in water on top of a bed of pebbles, I found my way to different therapy rooms like the Ayurveda, International, Shirodhara, Couples therapy, and the astrologically designed Meditation Room. Meditation, as I was told by Amatrra's in-house consultant, is a pre-requisite before your spa session so as to gain the maximum out of any therapy.
I was spoiled to bits with a hearty yet healthy indulgence at Elma’s Bakery. Amatrra’s Nutrition Expert dined with the bloggers whilst imparting some tips to satisfy our winter cravings as healthily as possible. We snacked on nutritious Sunflowers seeds, Pine nuts, Walnuts, Almonds, and Pumpkin seeds - all of which are excellent in winters and keep the body energised. The delicious Pumpkin Soup was tangy, sweet and creamy , and very low in calories. Next up, was the Red Ruby Salad which was as pretty as a salad can get- primarily made with beetroots, tomato, and basil. We thoroughly enjoyed the Zucchini and Aubergine Bake with grilled veggies and a generous topping of my most favourite thing in the world- cheese! The protein rich Fish Florentine with a delightful Sweet Potato Mash was truly a treat- as I was told by fellow bloggers as I am a born vegetarian. The star however, was the divine Carrot cake - a perfect ending to my healthy culinary spree at Elma’s, Amatrra.
