A power drive in Audi Q 5 with Arati Thapa

If you are a car enthusiast then there’s no way you will give up on the chance to drive an Audi Suv.  They are known for their performance and the Quattro technology.  I have driven Audi Q7, Q5 and Q3 on earlier occasions too courtesy the several off tracking experience that this luxury car brand gives to its customers and the media.

So when I was invited to drive this fabulous car again on a Saturday by the Audi Noida-Audi Delhi West, there was no way I was going to miss it. It was going to be a super duper Saturday with plenty of adventure thrown it and what’s there not to like about it.

We gathered at the large Audi Noida showroom where the instructors gave us strict road safety and other pointers. After which we were seated in the SUV and driven to the specific area marked for the off-track experience. A special track was developed for the off-roading experience in Noida.

As always I am excited to drive the Q Series, any one of it! The steering feels smooth, the interiors are fantastic, the car almost feels soft to me because everything about the car is so easy and relaxed, yet it has a body that is tough, masculine, it’s got a height, can withstand any roughness the road might spring on you and is a monster of a car that engulfs you in its embrace of safety. As a lady driver that is of utmost importance to me. Believe me driving this car which can easily seat five people is mind-blowingly effortless.

And that’s what I was about to experience once again. We were looking at the strength of the Q Series in different sections – mainly the speed, the brake, the strength of the wheels, the power division on the four wheels, the sharp bend turns, the ascent and the descent on a steep hill top etc.

As it happened I was the only lady driver on this particular event among hardcore sporty SUV drivers. For the first round I was the passive experiencer seated with “raring to go customers” who were waiting for their turn to put their palms on the steering wheel. My most electrifying and dare I say terrifying moment was when the Q5 that I was seated in took its turn in rounding the steep mountain made especially for the event. It felt like it would overturn anytime yet it withstood the test.

When it was my turn to take the wheels of the stylish Q 5 (it gives you the feeling that you could be headed to a power board meeting) it was all familiar excitement for me. The slightly sloping roof top, the handling prowess of the car, the fact that it can race from zero to 100 km in seconds (no I didn’t try that) the storing power the four wheels emanate, the extraordinary full colour monitor for the infotainment, the sharp and clear music, and the leg stretch space can ride one’s expectation high indeed.  

It never disappoints in excitement although I would have preferred to drive the Q7 this time round.
